Fire Victims Get New Home

RAMONA, Calif. --

Nearly one year after the Witch Creek Fire raced through Ramona, a local church helped a family victimized by the flames into a new home.

When the flames raced through Ramona last year, John and Adrienne Oleson’s house was right in its path. The family was left with no home, no fire insurance and a family of nine to worry about.

Amazingly, their positive attitude was still in tact.

"The things I've lost are just things. It hurts, but most things are replaceable," said John Oleson.

Envision Homes and The Rock Church of San Diego joined together to give the family a new house. The Olesons were chosen based on overall need and their record of community service.

Builders broke ground on the new home in March. It features 2,100 square feet of living space with four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a loft.
